The Ohio State football team is one of the most traditional programs in college football history. They have provided the NFL with legendary players who left a huge mark on the competition.

However, some of their former players have starred in controversial situations that put them in huge trouble with the law. While the Georgia Bulldogs have gotten infamous for their current players’ constant issues with justice, the Buckeyes’ former players are the ones making headlines for the worst reasons.

In the last month, three former Ohio State stars found themselves in complex positions, as they could spend a lot of time behind bars.

Kirk Barton, Darron Lee and Marcus Williamson face several years in prison for their respective alleged crimes. Barton’s pickup truck slammed into another vehicle in 2025, killing 24-year-old Ethan Perry. Barton pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony, which resulted in a sentence of five to seven and a half years in prison and three years of post-release control.

Darron Lee faces first-degree murder charges for the death of his girlfriend, Gabriella Carvalho Perpetuo. Rich Cimini of ESPN reported that prosecutors wanted Leed to get the death penalty.

More recently, Marcus Williamson faces up to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to multiple bank robbery charges. He could get probation, but the most severe punishment would have him behind bars for up to four decades.
