With Jay Norvell getting fired, plenty of interested eyes will be checking on Colorado State players to see who might be interested in transferring. Here are the five players who would receive the most interest if they entered the transfer portal.

LB Owen Long – Sophomore

  • 6-foot-2, 230-pounds
  • Whittier, California

Long enjoyed a productive freshman season with 45 tackles and two passes defended. However, not many people expected him to become one of the most productive linebackers in the country as a sophomore. But that is what has happened as he has already totaled 93 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two passes defended and one fumble recovery. His 93 tackles leads the nation.

RB Jalen Dupree – Redshirt Freshman

  • 6-foot-0, 210-pounds
  • Benton, Arkansas

Dupree redshirted last season but did rush for 153 yards and one touchdown while gaining 6.1 yards per carry. This season he has become a consistent part of the offense. With 429 yards, which leads the team, and two touchdowns, he has also become a threat through the air with 11 receptions for 86 yards.

P Bryan Hansen – Redshirt Junior

  • 6-foot-3, 210-pounds
  • Colleyville, Texas

Hansen walked on at Colorado State in 2022. He then handled most of the kickoffs during the 2023 season. In 2024 he added punting to his resume with nine punts averaging 41.1 yards. This season he has focused all his time on punting. And that has proven to be the right move, as he is currently averaging 46.6 yards on 31 punts, which includes 12 punts over 50 yards.

OT Aaron Karas – Redshirt Junior

  • 6-foot-5, 315-pounds
  • Arvada, Colorado

After redshirting in 2022, Karas has become a steady and reliable contributor on the Rams’ offensive line. Having played 34 games, he has been a multi-season starter at right tackle. On top of that, he is a veteran leader on the offensive side of the ball.

LB Robert Edmonson – Redshirt Sophomore

  • 6-foot-2, 225-pounds
  • Houston, Texas

Edmonson began his collegiate career at Prairie View A&M before transferring to Colorado State after the 2024 season. In his first reason with the Rams, he has become a key part of the defense. Through seven games, he has totaled 34 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and one interception.
