Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin told reporters on Tuesday that he's recovered after testing positive for the coronavirus last month.
Per ESPN's Andrea Adelson, Stricklin said:
"I thought I was being careful but obviously this is a highly transmittable disease. It speaks to the importance of all us doing our part with masking and physical distancing. It's really important. Hopefully, we can help keep others safe during this process by doing our part."
Stricklin explained that he dealt with mild symptoms and quarantined for 10 days.
Additionally, Stricklin was non-committal when speaking about college football and other fall sports starting and completing seasons as scheduled. "Right now, there's no way of really knowing," he reportedly said.
"If that's a different month in the calendar that allows us to do it in this school year, I don't think any of us are in position to be choosy right now," he said of campaigns possibly moving to the spring.
The SEC, ACC, and Big 12 all hope to wait until late July before making decisions on football and other fall sports amid the worsening virus outbreak. Earlier in the day, the SEC postponed soccer, volleyball, and cross country seasons through at least Aug. 31.
The Big Ten and Pac-12 have shifted to conference-only schedules for football and other fall sports to avoid lengthy travel among programs. Meanwhile, the Ivy League and Patriot League canceled all fall sports through the end of the year.
