Freshman defensive lineman London Seymour of the Georgia Bulldogs was arrested on Jan 29 and faced charges that initially appeared to number 131 felony counts of second-degree criminal damage to property.
However, an error in the Athens-Clarke County record log listed London Seymour’s charges 131 times, according to Saturday Down South. The actual count is 11 felony charges.
Seymour, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Georgia defensive lineman Richard Seymour, was booked into Athens-Clarke County jail at 9:44 p.m. and released on bond roughly an hour later at 10:57 p.m., per Athens-Clarke County jail records reported by CBS Sports.
The first charge carried a $1,100 bond per magistrate court order, with an additional $5,000 bond required at arrest. The 6-foot-4, 303-pound defensive tackle appeared in just one game for Georgia during the 2025 season, playing limited snaps in the Bulldogs’ 45-7 victory over Marshall.
Details about what led to the arrest have not been disclosed publicly, and the University of Georgia declined comment on the matter, per multiple reports including 247Sports.

Richard Seymour built a legendary career that began at Georgia and extended through 12 NFL seasons. The elder Seymour was a two-time All-SEC selection and All-American during his time with the Bulldogs before being selected sixth overall by the New England Patriots in the 2001 NFL Draft.
He won three Super Bowls with New England and earned seven Pro Bowl selections before his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022.
London Seymour joined Georgia as a walk-on after originally committing to Boston College. He turned down scholarship offers from programs including Colorado, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Marshall to follow his father’s footsteps in Athens.
Ranked as the nation’s 123rd defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class, Seymour recorded 58 tackles during his senior season at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia, with 26 tackles for loss.
The arrest adds to a string of legal issues involving Georgia football players under head coach Kirby Smart. Since 2023, 30 legal incidents involving players and staff have occurred, according to EssentiallySports.
His status with the team remains unclear as the legal process unfolds. Seymour has four years of eligibility remaining with the program.
