Best Case: FSU starts 4-0 in the ACC

There was a time when a 4-0 ACC start wasn't really a concern for this program, but last year, it started 0-4. This time around, winning the first four games means beating SMU, Virginia, at Louisville, and at Miami before getting a week off to get ready for Clemson.

Start 4-0 in the ACC, and Florida State will be good enough to get to the College Football Playoff.

Worst Case: FSU loses to SMU

It's the ACC opener, and it's a home game with a trip to Alabama coming next. Worst-case scenario - the Seminoles lose to the Mustangs, drop the game at Alabama, and start 1-3 without playing an ACC road game.

They struggle in all four ACC road dates, and after tripping up against a Clemson or Virginia, beating NC State and Florida becomes a must to go bowling.
