Brewers Lose Key Reliever to Injured List

This isn't good news for the Milwaukee Brewers and their bullpen.

On Friday, the Brewers placed left-handed relief pitcher DL Hall on the 15-day injured list with a left pectoral strain.

In addition to placing Hall on the IL, the Brewers recalled lefty Brian Fitzpatrick and righty Craig Yoho from Triple-A Nashville and designated right-hander Jake Woodford for assignment.

Hall injured his pec in a relief appearance yesterday on June 4, where he was forced to leave the game with an athletic trainer after 2.1 innings.

Hall has been one of the Brewers' best relievers this season, posting a 2.03 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 32 strikeouts across 31 innings (24 appearances, one start as an opener). Milwaukee will miss Hall's effectiveness and length out of the bullpen while he's on the shelf.

The Brewers have the sixth best bullpen ERA in baseball this year at 3.30. Without Hall, they will look to Fitzpatrick and Yoho to give them innings out of the 'pen.

Hall is just the latest pitching injury for the Brewers who have a total of seven hurlers on the IL currently. This list includes Logan Henderson, Brandon Woodruff, Quinn Priester, Rob Zastryzny, Jared Koenig, Angel Zerpa and now Hall. Their starting rotation only has four healthy pitchers in it as of this date.

Regardless, Milwaukee is 37-23 and has a 4.5 game lead on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Central division.

The Brewers are aiming for their fourth straight NL Central division title in 2026. This would also be their eighth playoff appearance in the last nine seasons.

They will hope that their pitching staff can get healthier in the coming months and will surely be adding multiple arms at the August 3 MLB trade deadline for the pennant push.

The Brewers open a three game series with the Colorado Rockies on Friday night at Coors Field.
