The Milwaukee Brewers enter the 2026 MLB season amid a key transition at the top of their rotation, and Jacob Misiorowski is well aware of the expectations on his shoulders . With longtime ace and two-time All-Star Freddy Peralta traded to the New York Mets in January, Milwaukee is now leaning on the second-year right-hander to serve as a central piece of their pitching staff moving forward.
The Brewers traded 29-year-old Peralta to the New York Mets in a multi-player deal that brought back several top prospects, reflecting the organization’s strategy of balancing immediate competitiveness with long-term planning. The move shifted the dynamics of the rotation and raised Jacob Misiorowski’s profile across the league. After an impressive rookie season, he is now viewed as a potential front-of-the-rotation starter.

As part of MLB Network’s “30 Clubs, 30 Camps” Spring Training coverage, a clip shared on X, (formerly Twitter), focused on the 6-foot-7 hard-throwing right-hander’s swift climb to an All-Star selection last season. In the footage, Misiorowski discussed stepping up as a leader in the rotation after the Peralta trade and getting ready for a significantly bigger role in his second year in the majors.
“Of course, yeah. I mean, I think that’s the goal every year. But we’ve got Woo, Priester, Chad, and guys coming up as well who are going to help with that, too. So it’s going to be fun,” Misiorowski commentend.
Misiorowski made his MLB debut in 2025 and quickly gained national attention, earning an All-Star nod in the first half of the season despite only five starts. His swift emergence cemented him as a key figure in the 2026 rotation and amplified questions about how the Brewers would collectively fill the void left by Peralta’s innings and veteran presence.
Replacing the Brewers’ former ace won’t be the burden of just one pitcher. While the team expects multiple young starters to step up, Misiorowski’s calm demeanor and accelerated progress suggest he’s ready to lead by example. With higher stakes and a clear opportunity in front of him, he seems poised to drive the next phase of Milwaukee’s rotation in 2026.
