The San Francisco Giants signed Harrison Bader just a few weeks before spring training. It was a short-term two-year deal that benefited both the franchise and Bader. The Giants want to get back into the playoffs, and with the Dodgers dominating the NL West, the only way to move forward is to shake up their roster.
The competition keeps getting harder, and the Giants seem to have understood what they need to do. One thing that has circulated within the franchise is their reluctance to sign players to long-term deals.
Which Team Will Sign Framber Valdez? https://t.co/6BzVaOFohx pic.twitter.com/szg1NnvwwJ

The San Francisco Giants need an extra pair of hands to help their roster. Framber Valdez is still waiting for a team, and the Giants have emerged as favorites. The Baltimore Orioles are still linked to Valdez, but the Giants seem to be in the mix.
Not many teams have shown keen interest in Framber Valdez. His cross-up incident with Houston Astros catcher Cesar Salazar is not helping the pitcher in his free agency. Valdez put up some good numbers with the Astros, and the San Francisco Giants will certainly benefit from the veteran pitcher.
Valdez posted a 13-11 record with a 3.66 ERA. He’s been consistent, but at age 32, it’s hard to see him secure a long-term deal. The Giants will only give Valdez a short-term deal. Two years seems ideal, but if no other team comes forward, Valdez might need to accept whatever comes his way.
The Houston Astros have clearly stayed away from Valdez. They seem to have had enough, and the franchise is already done with their offseason. Valdez will find a home before Opening Da,y and the San Francisco Giants could be his team.
