Conor McGregor seems to be enjoying himself as he prepares for his comeback.

The former dual-weight champion hasn’t fought since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in July 2021.

‘Notorious’ has expressed his desire to return at the UFC White House event on June 14.

It’s currently unclear if that will happen, but Conor McGregor has been training like it will all year.

On Tuesday, Conor McGregor posted a new video to his 46.3 million Instagram followers, showing some of the work he’s been putting in ahead of his comeback.

The footage focused on his ground game, with McGregor joking around as he dominated a clearly outmatched training partner.

The post was captioned: “Stop resisting!”

McGregor was shown locking in a head-and-arm choke from side control, holding it long enough for his opponent to tap out.

As he secured the position, McGregor said: “You’re under arrest.”

“Stop resisting,” he added before drawing the submission from his sparring partner.

McGregor’s UFC return still has contract issues

Even with McGregor back in camp, his return to the octagon isn’t a sure thing just yet. The Irishman says that the UFC’s $7.7 billion deal with Paramount voided his old contract.

With the promotion moving away from pay-per-view, any new agreement would need to look different. And given McGregor’s history as the sport’s top draw, he’ll have strong leverage in those talks.

Speaking earlier this year about his situation, McGregor said: “I’m going into negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in February.”

“I’m very interested to go. They’ve actually got a new deal with Paramount, it’s worth $7.7 billion. So the company has 4xed its profit.

“My contract, essentially, is void right now because there’s no more PPV, whereas my contract was based on PPV sales.

“I’m the highest-generating PPV fighter of all time. The PPV system is done, I’m due a new contract.”
