Another day, another dominating win for the Boston Celtics, who continue their impressive season following their latest victory over the short-handed Golden State Warriors on Thursday night in San Francisco.

Celtics Offense Stays Hot as Jaylen Brown Notches Sixth Career Triple-Double

When it rains, it pours, and it was nothing but steady rain for the Celtics on offense tonight as they torched the Warriors’ defense throughout the game. The Celtics would end the night shooting a highly efficient 51% from the floor, while also knocking down 17 threes at 42% clip to boot. Boston would also dish out 36 assists as a team on 49 made shots in the game, putting on a great display of unselfish basketball in the win.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Celtic win without All-Star Jaylen Brown being the star of the show for Boston on offense. Brown would collect the 6th triple-double of his career with 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists in a great all-around performance. This latest outing from Brown could very well solidify himself as a true MVP contender heading into the final half of the 2025-26 NBA season.

While Brown was stuffing the stat sheet for the Celtics, there were some other notable performances in this game for Boston outside of him. Those would come from both Payton Pritchard and Nikola Vucevic, who would make their mark in the game. Pritchard would sink 6 threes en route to a game-high 26 points, while Vucevic would finish with nine points and five rebounds in just 28 minutes.

Warriors Season on the Brink with Curry Expected to Miss More Games

There hasn’t been much to praise about the Warriors without franchise legend Stephen Curry in the lineup, and that continued struggle showed up yet again for both tonight and perhaps for even longer. Curry last played in a game for Golden State back on January 30, but has missed the past three weeks with a knee injury, with recent reports stating that the 12-time All-Star is set to miss the next five games as well. The Warriors have posted a 6-10 record without Curry this season.

Despite the Warriors’ offense not producing much as a whole until the garbage time in the 4th quarter, they did receive some good performances on that end of the floor. The most notable of which came from the recently acquired Kristaps Porzingis, who made his debut for the Warriors tonight. The former Atlanta Hawk finished with 12 in just 17 minutes of play in the loss. This game marked the first one played for Porzingis since January 7, as he’s been dealing with achilles tendinitis.

The two biggest areas in which the Warriors were thoroughly outplayed in were both rebounding and points in the paint. Golden State would be outrebounded 54-40 as the undersized Warriors were overmatched on the boards, while also giving up over 58 points in the paint on top of that.

Celtics Stay Near the Top of the Eastern Conference Standings

After the Detroit Pistons defeated the New York Knicks earlier today, the Celtics’ grip on the 2nd-place position in the East continues to tighten as the playoffs quickly approach. Boston now holds a two-game lead over the Knicks for that spot, while also only sitting five and a half games back from the Pistons for the top seed in the conference. That’s not a bad spot to be for a team that was widely expected to take a step back this season.

For the Warriors, this loss won’t hurt them too much in the Western Conference standings, as they stay put at the 8th-place position. However, the Warriors have been trending down the standings for the past month, as they were as high as the 6th-place spot prior to Curry’s injury last month. If the Warriors want to get out of this tailspin and save their season, they’ll have to hope Curry comes back quickly and stays healthy the rest of the season.
