The Hornets officially completed their deal for Tyus Jones late Tuesday night.

Charlotte acquired Jones from the Magic along with two second-round picks and cash considerations.

The picks include the least favorable of Boston or Orlando in 2027 and Orlando’s 2028 second, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

To clear roster space, the Hornets waived veteran wing Pat Connaughton, who will receive the remaining balance of his $9.4 million salary. Connaughton appeared in just 22 games this season.

The deal drops Orlando roughly $5 million below the luxury tax line. The Magic are now at 13 players on standard contracts and will have two weeks to reach the league minimum of 14.

Jones, 29, signed a one-year deal with Orlando in July but struggled to carve out a consistent role.

He averaged 3.0 points and 2.4 assists in 15.7 minutes per game while shooting 34.2 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from three across 48 appearances.

Charlotte continues to stockpile assets, now holding 11 first-rounders and 14 second-rounders over the next seven years.
