The Charlotte Hornets are sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference, which is not great. But the season has not been a total bust.
Kon Knueppel, the fourth overall pick from the 2025 NBA Draft, has been one of the few bright spots worth watching.
Knueppel is averaging 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists through 59 games. He has been giving fans a reason to show up, right alongside Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball.
The rookie is also on pace to join some elite company with his shooting from deep. He is knocking down three-and-a-half threes per game on eight attempts, shooting 44.2% from beyond the arc.
He has already hit 209 three-pointers and is on pace for 290 by the end of his rookie season.

For context, the single-season record still belongs to Stephen Curry with 402 back in 2015-16. James Harden hit 378 in 2018-19. Curry shows up again with 357 in 2023-24, 354 in 2018-19, 337 in 2020-21 and 324 in 2016-17.
Anthony Edwards posted 320 in 2024-25, just ahead of Malik Beasley's 319 that same year. Curry added 311 in 2024-25. Klay Thompson had 301 in 2022-23, Harden 299 in 2019-20, and Paul George 292 in 2018-19.
Knueppel has already made his mark in the record books after setting a new NBA record for the most three-pointers by a rookie in a single season. The first-year wing has leaned on his outside shot all year, stretching defenses and giving Charlotte a steady scoring boost.
