Cooper Flagg has been diagnosed with a left midfoot sprain, the Dallas Mavericks announced in a press release. Flagg injured the foot in Tuesday’s game against the Suns and underwent an MRI, which was when the sprain was discovered.

The team notes that Flagg will miss Thursday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers as well as Friday’s Castrol Rising Stars game in All-Star weekend.

Tim MacMahon of ESPN reports that Flagg is not expected to miss additional time following the break.

The star rookie has played in 49 of the Mavericks’ 53 games this season, scoring 20.4 points along with 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game.

Despite his best efforts, the 19-34 Mavericks are still in 12th place of the Western Conference standings heading into Wednesday night's action. They are six games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the last spot in the play-in tournament.
