Moses Moody’s childhood photo with Al Horford comes full circle

Moses Moody's mother probably didn't think much of it when she dug up an old photo. But once it was out there, it must have hit her differently.

Rona Moody posted a childhood picture recently from Chris Paul's 2015 CP3 Camp.

In it, a 13-year-old Moses stands in front of a display spotlighting Al Horford's wingspan. Just a kid at a camp, taking it all in.

Horford, at the time, was one of the better forwards in the league, stacking All-Star nods with the Atlanta Hawks and building a name as one of the most versatile bigs around.

Fast forward to 2026, and the two share a locker room with the Golden State Warriors. Nobody could have drawn that up.

From summer camp snapshot to Warriors' locker room

Moody has grown into a real piece for Golden State this season. Since January, the 23-year-old is averaging 13.1 points a night while holding his own on the defensive end against tough assignments.

It's the kind of steady, consistent production that does not always make headlines but matters plenty to a team trying to win.

His path to this point started with the Warriors selecting him 14th overall in the 2021 draft. He worked his way into the rotation, played a role during Golden State's 2022 championship run, and has kept building ever since.

Horford's road was longer and wound through several stops. Boston, Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, and back to Boston, where he picked up an NBA title in 2024. Before this season, he signed with the Warriors, quietly landing in the same place as that kid from the camp photo.

In 2015, it was just a snapshot. A young Moody next to a respected NBA veteran, neither with any reason to think their paths would cross again. Now they are teammates, working toward the same thing every night.
