Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel beat Keegan Murray’s single-season rookie record for made three-pointers in a season back in February. But with his rookie year drawing to a close, he set another record on Thursday.
With his four three-pointers against the Suns, Knueppel set a Charlotte Hornets franchise record for three-pointers (261) with five games left in the regular season. The 20 year old has started 75 of the 76 games he’s played in his first professional season after the Hornets used the fourth-overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on the Duke product.
Knueppel’s sensational shooting (and the Hornets incredible turnaround this season) has given him a legitimate shot at winning a Rookie of the Year Award that most expected to go to Cooper Flagg in a landslide before the campaign.
Knueppel broke the record in an important win for Charlotte over the Phoenix Suns that lifted them into eighth in the Eastern Conference – which would guarantee two chances in the Play-In Tournament – and also ensured the Hornets first .500-or-better season since 2021-22 when they won 43 games.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to make the most three-pointers in a single season for each NBA franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
