The San Antonio Spurs went into the first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden in 27 years desperately needing a win to keep themselves afloat.
In perhaps their most important game of the season, their best players showed up. Led by efficient 32 and 23-point performances from Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, six Spurs players reached double-figures in the 115-111 win.
The former Rookies of the Year shot a combined 59.4 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range, while the 22-year-old Wembanyama became the second-youngest player to finish an NBA Finals game with at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists.
The Spurs and Knicks are back on the hardwood at MSG on Wednesday for Game 4, and San Antonio will hope to continue the trend of road team victories for one more game.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Wembanyama became the 19th player to score at least 30 points in an NBA Finals game before turning 25 years old. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
