After a decent 2025 season going 11-6, the Philadelphia Eagles will have the No. 23 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. While it might be considered decent by the average NFL fan or successful by others, Eagles fans will not see it either way. They will see it as a failure. The Eagles won the Super Bowl a season ago and were hoping for a repeat of that success.
The Eagles have moved on from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. The offense was stagnant and ultimately failed. With a new offensive coordinator, the Eagles hope to get back on track. They could also get this with the No. 23 pick. The Eagles have many ways they could go. After several trades (Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter) to shore up a hole at the second corner spot, the Eagles could get a younger and better corner to pair opposite Quinyon Mitchell with Cooper DeJean in the slot. They could also go after a wide receiver if they decide to get rid of AJ Brown.
The Eagles secondary had holes in 2025. Individual players like Mitchell and DeJean played well, others had seasons they might not want to look back on. Even the aforementioned Alexander or Carter couldn’t help. Enter one of the most important people in the Eagles organization: Howie Roseman. The Eagles general manager makes most of his money on draft night by the draft classes he puts together. Clemson’s Terrell fits the type of player Roseman might select on draft night. Clemson, like the Eagles, have a mindset of success and championships. Anything less is considered failure.
Terrell finished fourth in total tackles in 2025 for Clemson, the second of any defensive back on the team. He had 48 tackles, three sacks, nine pass deflections, five forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Terrell would be a great addition for the Eagles as he is strong in man coverage and leaves Cooper DeJean to roam as safety or a nickelback.
The Eagles are expected to move on from Brown, whether it is this offseason or next offseason when his contract expires. However, they will need to fill the role when that happens. Currently, the only big-name wide receiver on the roster is DeVonta Smith. With the No. 23 pick, the Eagles could take Concepcion.
Concepcion should be a first rounder but isn’t in the first set of top wide outs. He finished his collegiate career with 185 receptions, 2,218 yards and 25 touchdowns between his time with the Aggies and his two years at North Carolina State. Concepcion is only 5-foot-11, but his speed should be an issue for opposing defenses. If and when the Eagles replace Brown, Concepcion could be a fine addition.
