NFL insider Jordan Schultz raised eyebrows when he reported on Thursday that "teams in the trade market have gotten the sense that the" Las Vegas Raiders "are more open to the idea of trading Maxx Crosby."
It appears that an AFC North team may be ready to match the Raiders' asking price for the star pass-rusher.
On Friday morning, NFL insider Jason La Canfora of SportsBoom revealed that a Baltimore Ravens team that is "desperate for pass-rush help and lacking healthy impact players in their front seven" is ready "to go all-in" on trading for Crosby.
"I heard pretty strongly they are offering their one (first-round draft pick), plus two more Day Two (rounds two and three) picks," an unnamed general manager said about the Ravens' interest in Crosby while chatting with La Canfora. "I don’t know exactly in which years, and they probably want them spread out, but Baltimore is being aggressive."
As recently as Wednesday, NFL reporter Dianna Russini of The Athletic shared that Raiders general manager John Spytek and minority owner Tom Brady were asking for "two first-round picks and a player" in return for Crosby's services.
"Decision-makers are getting mixed signals from the Raiders as to their genuine interest in dealing their star pass-rusher," Russini added.
It was recently said that Crosby is willing to play on the terms of the three-year, $106.5M contract extension he signed last offseason to make a trade easier. Also on Wednesday, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated hinted that the Crosby-Raiders saga could come to a conclusion "by Monday."
Some previously thought that the Chicago Bears were the favorites to land Crosby, and it's possible that he wants to share a locker room with quarterback Caleb Williams. However, it also sounds as if Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta is ready to give the Raiders what they want for Crosby as soon as when the new league year opens this coming Wednesday.
"Multiple high-ranking NFL officials from teams that have contacted the Raiders about Crosby indicated that DeCosta is prioritizing landing Crosby," La Canfora added. "...Some execs believe Las Vegas will end up getting two first-round picks for him."
