There are questions around the league about whether New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara will be moving on from the team due to the Travis Etienne signing . The Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Seattle Seahawks could be potential trading spots for him.
“If Mickey comes downstairs and says we’re trading you, then I’m going to go drink a piña colada somewhere,” Kamara stated.
Kamara as a passing-down back for the Minnesota Vikings could make some sense. Minnesota lost Aaron Jones.
In the 2020 season, Alvin had delivered an unforgettable performance with six touchdowns against the Vikings in the Christmas game. Prime Kamara was a different beast. Not sure if he could be that guy again.
Kamara could reunite with head coach Sean Payton with the Denver Broncos; they were together on the Saints. Denver already has two running backs in RJ Harvey and JK Dobbins. The Broncos should focus on getting young, talented RBs instead of reminiscing about the past.
The Chiefs could trade for Kamara and use him as a third down/receiving back. Alvin takes the Jerrick McKinnon role. He would absolutely feast as an RB2 behind starting running back Kenneth Walker.
Kamara has been rumored to be linked with Kansas City for quite some time now. They lost Isaiah Pacheco to the Detroit Lions.
A name that the Seattle Seahawks should be looking to trade for to add to the running back room is Kamara. He is just a year removed from a 1,493-yard and an eight-touchdown campaign.
Seattle could probably get Alvin on a one-year deal until Zach Carbonnet is fully healthy again. They have been looking into signing Rashad White.
Moving Kamara right after signing Etienne would signal a significant shift in the Saints offense. He has been the centerpiece of that backfield for a long time, so a trade would be a huge moment.
This is a smart low-risk add with Etienne on a short deal, but the real question is Kamara’s future. Alvin is 30 years old with an injury history and a big cap hit. Trading him could free up $10-15 million in space for 2026 while getting picks or a younger RB.
