Bo Nix made big move to handle criticism about Broncos' offensive struggles

The Denver Broncos improved to 8-2 on the season via an ugly 10-7 win over the rival Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 6, but Denver also did little to silence criticisms about the club's offense on that Thursday evening.

While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, second-year Denver quarterback Bo Nix revealed that he deleted his social media accounts in an effort to ignore outside noise regarding what's said about him and his teammates.

Why Bo Nix doesn't "get on social media"

"We make this entertainment business a lot bigger than what it is, and we forget everybody is just out here having a good time, having fun, doing the best they can,'' Nix explained, per Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "For me, it's quite simple. I delete my social media. I don't have it, so unless somebody says it to my face, I don't really hear it -- and nobody is ever bold enough to say it to your face. I don't get on social media.''

ESPN stats show that the Broncos rank 13th in the NFL with 334.6 offensive yards gained per game and 17th with 23.5 points scored per contest. According to Pro Football Reference, Nix ended Week 10 tied for 27th in the NFL among qualified players with a 60.9 percent completion percentage. He's 18th with a 54.9 adjusted QBR and 27th with an 85.7 passer rating.

Bo Nix trying to remain positive amid criticisms

For a mailbag published on Wednesday, NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated was asked if Nix can be "the long-term solution at quarterback in Denver." That says plenty about how certain outsiders view the 25-year-old this fall.

"It definitely doesn't go like you planned,'' Nix added about his journey. "If it went like I planned, I definitely would have won every national championship in college, we would have won the Super Bowl last year, and we'd be undefeated right now ...It would be selfish of me to think I'm owed a certain amount of respect or something else. [I want to be] a great teammate, being a great role model for people watching, and at the end of the day, you've just got to do your best. I'm proud to be in this situation, I know it's not easy, and a lot of things worth having in life aren't easy.''

Nix will look to produce a bounce-back outing when the Broncos host the Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) Sunday afternoon. As of Thursday morning, ESPN BET had Denver as a 3.5-point home underdog for that game.
