Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys dropped a second-straight game in Week 9, falling to 3-5-1 on the 2025 NFL season after a 27-17 loss to Jacoby Brissett and the Arizona Cardinals. Prescott has one of his worst outings of the year, completing 24-of-39 passes for 250 yards, a touchdown and an interception, adding another 34 yards on the ground.

Before joining the Cowboys, Prescott was an All-SEC quarterback at Mississippi State. He was originally a three-star recruit in the 2011 class out of Haughton High School, located just outside Shreveport, Louisiana. And recently, Prescott made a significant donation to his former school.

Before the start of the 2025 high school football season, Prescott donated $1 million to Haughton High to help build “Louisiana’s largest video scoreboard” and upgrade the weight room where he once trained. And on Thursday night, he returned to his alma mater for a special dedication ceremony, during which the field at Harlan Stadium was officially named Prescott Field.

"Dak Prescott returns to his alma mater, Haughton High School for a special field dedication ceremony," CBS News Texas' Briana Aldridge wrote. "@CBSNewsTexas will have more on the QB tonight at 10pm. @CBSSportsTexas'

Prescott was introduced to the crowd at Haughton High School on Thursday, joined by his wife, Sarah Jane, and their two daughters, Margaret Jane and Aurora Raine. He said he was grateful to share the moment with his “new family.”

"It's amazing just to get acknowledged," Prescott said. "Trying to watch the jumbotron, the video, and my daughter's pulling on my face. Just almost reminds you, reminds you what's important. And just so thankful of this community. I'm so thankful for how they rallied behind my family growing up. Obviously, just the support I felt throughout my career, from college to the NFL, this day was special. And to be able to share it with my new family, can't put it into words."

NFL fans took notice of Prescott being honored at his high school, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

" (that's my quarterback)," one fan said.

"So awesome. He’s a great young man," wrote a second.

"hes an incredible man. and an even better father and dad," added a third.

"Congratulations Dak ❤️," posted a fourth.

"We love you man @dak," commented a fifth.

"Awesome stuff bro," added a sixth.

Prescott and the Cowboys will have a bye in Week 10 before returning in Week 11 to face Geno Smith and the Las Vegas Raiders.
