The Miami Dolphins parted ways with wide receiver Tyreek Hill on Monday.
Hill later took to social media and vowed that he "will be back." The veteran who turns 32 years old on March 1 dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, on Sept. 29, but it sounds like he has taken some positive steps in his recovery.
Shortly after the news of Hill's release broke on Monday, Miami-based sportscaster Josh Moser shared a portion of a conversation he had with big-name agent Drew Rosenhaus. According to Matthew Couden of Newsweek, Rosenhaus suggested that Hill is "progressing well" and won't retire this offseason.
"He had a challenging injury, but he is working his tail off and doing everything he can to get back as soon as possible," Rosenhaus said. "Certainly, Tyreek would be the first one to say that he has a lot of work to do. He has said to me that he wants to play again, and if Tyreek has made up his mind that that's what he wants to do, then I have no doubt that he'll do it."
The Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers have been mentioned among the potential landing spots for Hill. Hill featured for the Chiefs from 2016 until he was traded to the Dolphins in March 2022.
Per Jake Brockhoff of Steelers Depot, NFL insider Mike Florio said during Monday's edition of the "Pro Football Talk Live" program that Hill will be "in demand" as long as he can pass a physical at some point during the offseason.
"Tyreek Hill can make a difference for plenty of teams out there that have had something less than Tyreek Hill at the receiver position in recent years," Florio continued. "And he could end up being a difference-maker in 2026. Is it a long-term answer? No. Is it a very viable one- or two-year fix for a team that's trying to grab the brass ring? Hell yes."
Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has already made it known he wants Hill to return to the organization. It's unknown if those running the Chiefs are as excited as Jones about possibly welcoming Hill back to Kansas City before the 2026 campaign gets underway.
