Jason Kelce sends A.J. Brown warning to Eagles after interesting comments

Philadelphia Eagles legend and ESPN personality Jason Kelce generated headlines when he said during a Thursday radio interview that he felt watching Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown play during the 2025 season was a "frustrating" experience at times.

Many assumed that Kelce was suggesting the Eagles may be better off if they trade Brown at some point after the new league year opens on March 11. Kelce later took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify his comments.

Jason Kelce shares "what really matters" amid A.J. Brown trade rumors

"It seems people are taking this as a dig on A.J. Brown, which wasn’t really the intent of the response," Kelce wrote. "It was apparent that A.J. was frustrated, and it’s apparent that A.J. lets that affect his play at times. That’s frustrating to watch as fans and people on the outside. But it’s more important that his teammates and coaches, for all of this external frustration, still love and only say positive things about A.J. That probably means that his teammates understand where he’s coming from, and that’s what really matters."

Brown repeatedly made it known during this season that he was frustrated over his role in what was a struggling Philadelphia offense. His effort then came into question after he committed multiple drops and was responsible for some questionable blocking during Philadelphia's 23-19 wild-card playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Jan. 11. Brown was also involved in a heated exchange with head coach Nick Sirianni during that contest.

Shortly after Philadelphia was bounced from the postseason tournament, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman declined to confirm that Brown will definitely be on the roster this coming September. Brown has since been linked with the Buffalo Bills and other advertised contenders in need of receiving help.

Jason Kelce sends warning to Eagles about A.J. Brown

"If there was an issue with it, teammates would be saying different things publicly," Kelce continued. "That was the point I was attempting to say. That was the purpose of this response, and I worded it poorly. I love A.J. Brown. I loved him as a teammate, and I think if he ends up getting traded, the Eagles and fans will end up regretting it majorly."

As recently as Thursday, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler said that "many high-level executives expect the Eagles to entertain trade offers for" Brown. It sounds like Roseman isn't too concerned about Kelce's warning.
