Ravens Star Facing NFL Decision Over Incident Involving Lamar Jackson

The Ravens kept their postseason hopes alive after Sunday’s crucial win. According to the NFL Playoff Picture prediction model, the victory against Cincinnati saw Baltimore’s postseason odds improve to 45% with three more games remaining in the regular season.

The Ravens, however, are now waiting for the NFL’s decision on the incident from Sunday’s game. It was Baltimore tackle Ronnie Stanley who was penalized for a personal foul on a sequence involving Jackson. The two-time Pro Bowl tackle was flagged for unnecessary roughness while providing interior protection for his quarterback in the second quarter. Stanley was able to prevent a potential sack by Bengals defensive end Joseph Ossai, but the former was assessed for doing so illegally.

It resulted in a 15-yard penalty for the Ravens, which was offset by another flag on the play. Bengals cornerback DJ Turner II was called for defensive holding, resulting in an offsetting penalty.

Baltimore was still able to close out the drive with a touchdown, though. Jackson threw a deep pass to Zay Flowers for a 28-yard score. That TD put the Ravens up 14-0.

Stanley is now facing potential punishment from the NFL for his actions. The Ravens star will need to wait for the league's decision on the incident, which will be announced via the gameday accountability report on Saturday.

For context, 12 instances of unnecessary roughness were fined in Week 14. The most substantial punishment was on the Detroit Lions ' Alex Anzalone, who was fined $17,968.

Stanley has already been fined three times in his career, totalling $60,101. He could be facing another one for his latest violation against the Bengals.
