Russell Wilson established himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Seattle Seahawks history. He played the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seahawks, leading the franchise to its one and only Super Bowl title in 2014.

Now, years removed from his glory days, the 10-time Pro Bowler has struggled to remain relevant in the NFL. Wilson joined the New York Giants ahead of the 2025 season. He signed a one-year $10.5 million deal to be New York’s QB1. He lost his starting job three games into the season, conceding the coveted role to rookie QB Jaxson Dart.

Wilson remained on the bench the rest of the way. In fact, he was relegated to a third-string quarterback behind Jameis Winston. After starting the first three games, Wilson made just three brief appearances for the Giants for the rest of the season.

Wilson finished the campaign with 69-of-119 completed passes (58.0%), 831 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. He added 18 yards on the ground on three carries. These were all career-low marks for the 14-year veteran.

On Thursday, Wilson reflected on happier days. He posted a photo from his Super Bowl title run with the Seahawks in 2014, along with a thankful message.

“Grateful for memories like these!” Wilson wrote, posting a photo of himself hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy from Super Bowl 48.

Wilson could not help but reminisce amid the Super Bowl hype. That season, he led Seattle to a 13-3 record in just his second year as a pro. Wilson registered 257-of-407 completed passes for 3,357 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also recorded 539 rushing yards and one TD on 96 carries.

They defeated the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional rounds and the NFC championship, respectively. Wilson and Co. then took down Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, 43-8.

Wilson, however, will be on the outside looking in for Super Bowl 60. He will watch his former team try to repeat the same feat that he achieved 12 years ago.
