Terry Bradshaw suggests Aaron Rodgers has already told Steelers his plans for 2026 season

A report from this past weekend revealed that "the odds are increasing" that 42-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers will re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers to remain their starter for at least one more season.

Recently hired Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy was Rodgers' head coach when the two were with the Green Bay Packers from 2006 through much of the 2018 campaign. During a Tuesday appearance on Arkansas radio station 103.7 The Buzz, Steelers legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw suggested that McCarthy already knows what Rodgers plans to do regarding the 2026 season.

Did Aaron Rodgers experience a change of heart?

"I have heard, right [before] the McCarthy thing was announced, I had already heard that Aaron Rodgers had told Mike, 'If you want me to come back for a year, I'll come back and join you,'" Bradshaw said during the interview, per Troy Montgomery of Steelers Depot.

A January report claimed that Rodgers hinted as recently as this past December that he "probably" would retire this offseason. That was before longtime Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin stepped down and before it became clear that McCarthy was Pittsburgh's preferred option to serve as Tomlin's replacement.

Meanwhile, it was said on Monday that a majority of Steelers players made it known during their end-of-season exit meetings that they want Rodgers back, in part because of "how much respect and love" they have for the future Hall of Famer.

Terry Bradshaw has surprising take about Aaron Rodgers returning to Steelers

Last spring, Bradshaw went viral when he said he felt the Steelers' interest in Rodgers was "a joke." Thus, it's somewhat surprising to hear that Bradshaw now supports McCarthy running it back with Rodgers this year.

"Let's bring Aaron back," Bradshaw added about the Steelers. "He knows the offense. He'll do well with...they'll bring in some players."

Bradshaw also backed the Steelers choosing McCarthy over other coaching candidates. Multiple stories shared throughout the winter have linked Rodgers with the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers allegedly wanted to play for the Vikings instead of the Steelers this past season, but that may no longer be the case.
