The Dallas Cowboys have some big decisions to make when it comes to their roster for the 2026 NFL season. One of these is whether or not they will be able to bring back Pro Bowl wide receiver George Pickens, who is hitting free agency this off-season. In his first season with Dallas, Pickens had the best year of his career, catching 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.

Obviously, this level of production has made him one of the biggest and most coveted names on the upcoming free agent market. If the Cowboys do not bring him back, he is sure to get paid handsomely somewhere.

And former Dallas All-Pro Micah Parsons wants Pickens to come join him on the Green Bay Packers.

Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb says George Pickens is not going to the Green Bay Packers

During an appearance on Thursday on the “Up and Adams” podcast, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb revealed that Parsons was trying to convince Pickens to come and join in him Green Bay once he hits free agency.

And Lamb was quick to shut that down:

“They’re not going to get him,” he said of the Packers landing the Pro Bowl wide receiver.

And the fact of the matter is that he is probably right. While Parsons may have been just joking, the fact of the matter is that Green Bay simply does not typically go after wide receivers in free agency.

They have, in the past, made big splashes, such as when they signed Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney in 2024. But if they are not going to bring back Romeo Doubs for $12 million a year, they are not going to spend twice that amount to get Pickens.

But while it is true, then, that Green Bay is not going to get Pickens, the question remains whether Dallas will get him instead. They already are paying Lamb himself $34 million a year and quarterback Dak Prescott $60 million.

With the NFL salary cap expected to be around $303 million, that means nearly one-third of their cap is going to two players.

If the Cowboys were to place the franchise tag on Pickens, he would be guaranteed $28 million for 2026. His market value should he be allowed to hit free agency, according to Spotrac, is over $30 million a year.

In other words, while the Packers are not getting Pickens, it is a long-shot for the Cowboys to retain him themselves.
