The Atlanta Gladiators have added veteran winger Brett Bulmer to their lineup as the club sharpens its roster ahead of the final weeks of the 2025–26 regular season.
Bulmer, born April 26, 1992, in Prince George, British Columbia, is a 6-foot-4, 212-pound power forward whose game has always centered on physicality and versatility. He shoots right but is capable of sliding to either wing. This gives Atlanta’s coaching staff genuine flexibility when constructing forward combinations down the stretch.
Bulmer developed into a top prospect during his junior career in the WHL with the Kelowna Rockets. Over four seasons with Kelowna, he appeared in 178 games, recording 65 goals and 86 assists for 151 points, while adding a physical element to his game with significant penalty minutes.
His strong junior play led to his selection by the Minnesota Wild in the 2010 NHL Draft. Bulmer would go on to appear in 17 NHL games with Minnesota, recording three assists during his time with the organization.
Following his transition to professional hockey, Bulmer spent several seasons in the AHL. He skated with the Houston Aeros and Iowa Wild, appearing in over 200 AHL games and recording more than 50 points, including a career-best 19-point season with Iowa in 2013–14.
Bulmer has also found success in the ECHL, where he has appeared in over 100 games. His most productive ECHL season came in 2017–18 with the Florida Everblades, when he recorded 23 goals and 19 assists for 42 points in 70 games, before adding 13 points in 20 playoff games during the Everblades’ postseason run. More recently, he spent time with the Indy Fuel, where he recorded 32 points (12G, 20A) in 33 games during the 2023–24 season, followed by five points in eight games in 2024–25.
Bulmer has also built an extensive international résumé, spending several seasons playing in Europe. He first moved overseas during the 2016–17 season, appearing in 23 games in Finland’s Liiga with Ilves, where he recorded five points. That same season, he also played seven games in Germany’s DEL with ERC Ingolstadt, adding three points.
Bulmer later moved to the United Kingdom’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), where he enjoyed one of his strongest offensive seasons. Skating with the Fife Flyers in 2018–19, he recorded 57 points (26G, 31A) in 57 games. He followed that with another EIHL stint with the Nottingham Panthers, producing 21 points in 32 games.
His international career also included time in Germany’s DEL2 with EHC Freiburg, where he recorded six points in four games during the 2019–20 season.
Bulmer continued playing in Germany’s third-tier league, the Oberliga, where he produced dominant offensive numbers. During the 2020–21 season with the Hannover Indians, he recorded 76 points (37G, 39A) in 39 games. He followed that with two strong seasons with the Tilburg Trappers, recording 89 points in 44 games in 2021–22 and 40 points in 29 games in 2022–23, while also contributing 18 points across 14 playoff games during those seasons.
At 6-foot-4, Bulmer brings a physical edge that can help Atlanta in key areas of the game. Players with his size and reach can create space along the boards, establish net-front presence, and help wear down opposing defenses.
As Atlanta continues battling for position in the standings, adding a veteran forward like Bulmer,, with more than a decade of professional experience across North America and Europe, may give the Gladiators another option in their forward group heading into the final weeks of the regular season.
