Christian Pulisic continues to be seen as the key figure for the USMNT ahead of the 2026 World Cup this summer.
The American forward started on fire for AC Milan this season and is still the top scorer of the team in the Serie A with eight goals, but has not been consistent in appearances.
Pulisic has missed seven games in the Serie A and has not been starting matches for AC Milan in his last few appearances. The American forward is expected to be back in the sqaud following recovering form an injury.
Despite the slow start to 2026, USMNT legend Alexi Lalas believes that Pulisic will not be a part of the USMNT but thinks he will have a great 2026 World Cup tournament.
On the Alexi Lalas’ State of the Union Podcast, Alexi Lalas talks about some fans' concern on Christian Pulisic, who has not been as effective for AC Milan since the start of the season.
Pulisic last started for AC Milan on January 18, 2026, against Lecce. Since then, Pulisic has not started or played due to an injury, while Christopher Nkunku has started and scored goals for Milan.
Alexi Lalas still believes that Pulisic will be vital for the team and predicts that he will be crucial for the USMNT in this year's World Cup.
Alexis Lalas said, "I just remain unconcerned with Christian Pulisic in that I think he'll be there this summer, and I think that he is going to be the star that we need him to be. He has brought it for the national team over the years. I think he will do it again."
