Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of the Brazilian national team, has given his opinion on two of the biggest European competitions currently underway.
The Italian shared his views on who would win the Champions League as well as the Premier League in a recent appearance on "Football on TNT Sports."
His picks are informed not only by tactical analysis but also by personal connections to Brazilian players who compete in the top division in England. Although Ancelotti chose Real Madrid as his Champions League guess, his Premier League selection was informed by more complex considerations that were linked to his position with the Brazilian national team.
The 66-year-old manager, who has been at the helm of Brazil’s national side since May, has strong bonds with some players in the Premier League. In response to questions on who the Champions League winner would be, Ancelotti was confident about the chances of Real Madrid. The five-time Champions League winner chose his former club to win the competition.
His association with the Spanish giants remains strong despite his years of success at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid is currently placed fifth in the Champions League table with 12 points from five games.
Arsenal got the support of Ancelotti in winning the Premier League title. The Gunners are at the top of the competition with 33 points, two more than Manchester City.
Ancelotti discussed his reasons for choosing Arsenal in the interview with "Football on TNT Sports," as shared on X.

"I am a fan of the Premier League, but I think that Arsenal began very well. They made a fantastic team, very solid," said Ancelotti.
This prediction came with a mention of his interest in the league in general.
"And of course, I am a supporter of Arsenal because I have Gabriel," he added, referring to Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been an important player in Arsenal's defense.
Ancelotti said that he supports several clubs depending on where his Brazilian players play. Among the clubs he mentioned supporting due to his Brazilian players are Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
He was the manager of Chelsea between 2009 and 2011, winning the double in his first season. He returned to England to manage Everton between 2019 and 2021 before rejoining Real Madrid.
Arsenal has been playing well in all competitions this season. The team managed by Mikel Arteta is also leading the Champions League table with five wins out of five. However, its current form received a blow as it lost 2-1 to Aston Villa away from home on Saturday.
This loss gave Manchester City a chance to reduce the deficit in the title race. The Gunners have managed to finish second in the Premier League for the last two seasons, just behind Manchester City.
