
Sunday's match between Inter Milan and Cremonese had to be halted after Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audero was struck by a firecracker.
The scary incident occurred in the 49th minute of play, and the match was immediately stopped as medical staff quickly attended to Audero.
Inter captain Lautaro Martinez and head coach Cristian Chivu pleaded for calm in the away section. Audero spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Inter.
At the time of the stoppage, Inter were leading 2-0. The match resumed after a three-minute break. Inter were able to see out a 2-0 victory after play resumed.
Audero was able to continue for the remainder of the match, though he sported a cut on his right leg.

The 29-year-old keeper appeared to signal to the medical staff that he was having trouble hearing from his right ear.
Martinez and Piotr Zielinski each scored first-half goals for Inter in Sunday's victory at Stadio Giovanni Zini.
