Tyrique George has joined Everton from Chelsea, completing his move on deadline day.

Everton’s focus during the January transfer window shifted after Jack Grealish’s injury. Although there was early interest in strengthening the attack, Grealish’s absence forced a rethink in priorities.

With Grealish ruled out for an extended period, David Moyes turned his attention to finding a suitable replacement rather than chasing a new striker.

Raheem Sterling was considered at one point after he parted ways with Chelsea, but in the end, it was his former teammate Tyrique George who got the call.

George has joined Everton on loan, and the move has already drawn some positive attention. One Liverpool player even reached out to congratulate him on the switch.

George recently gave his first interview as an Everton player and shared a few photos from his signing day on Instagram.

Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha was among those who responded, sending a couple of emojis in support.

The two players know each other from their time in the Chelsea academy, and it looks like they’ve kept in touch since then.

Carney Chukwuemeka also offered support in the comments section, saying: “Lil bro gwarnnn.”

“Rio, big talent,” Carney told Liverpool.com.

The praise for George didn’t stop there. Chelsea centre-back Josh Acheampong simply commented: “My boy.”

Tyrique George needs to be included in Fulham starting XI

George could feature for the first time on Saturday afternoon, when Everton face Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Moyes typically eases new arrivals into the side, giving them time to settle before handing them a starting role.

But with Grealish sidelined, this feels like a situation where Moyes might have to start the 20-year-old on the left wing.

Iliman Ndiaye should be moved back over to the right flank, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall should be operating as the number 10.
