Why Is Paul Pogba Not Playing Tonight for AS Monaco vs. PSG?

AS Monaco will host the first leg of the Round of 16 playoffs against PSG in the Champions League. Monaco will look to cause an upset as PSG are the current Champions League holders.

Both teams played each other earlier this season in Ligue 1, where Monaco defeated PSG 1-0 at home with a goal from Takumi Minamino. Monaco will look to replicate the same result to have an advantage in the tie ahead of the second leg next week.

AS Monaco's squad for the match is slim, as many players are unavailable to play the match against PSG, including midfielder Paul Pogba.

After missing professional football for over two years due to a ban, Pogba returned to professional football in November. Pogba has played three games for Monaco since he joined the club last summer.

Pogba played in Monaco's 1-0 win over PSG in November, and his last appearance for Monaco was against Brest in Ligue 1 in December.

Pogba was set to return to the sqaud in time for the Champions League knockout stage playoffs, but the French midfielder suffered another setback.

Paul Pogba Out of AS Monaco Squad

Paul Pogba faced another setback as the midfielder is not fit and is currently suffering from a calf injury. Pogba was then excluded from the AS Monaco Champions League squad.

Pogba was dropped from Monaco's Champions League squad and was replaced by new signings like Simon Adingra and Wout Faes.

Pogba will not play in the second leg against PSG next week in Paris. His return is yet to be confirmed, but he is expected to recover soon, according to French reports. Pogba would be part of Monaco's squad for Ligue 1.
