Shedeur Sanders and Browns get dissed in unique ranking

The Cleveland Browns are coming up on what could be an exciting season for the franchise. They finally have quarterback Deshaun Watson healthy again, so this will be a chance for him to prove that he was worth his lofty contract. Plus, they have the buzzed-about second-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders trying to earn that starting quarterback slot, if Watson isn't it.

Between Sanders, Watson and the Browns making a blockbuster trade with Los Angeles to send defensive end Myles Garrett away, it's already shaping up to be a wild season, and it hasn't even started yet.

But one NFL analyst thinks the Browns will be pretty boring this season. Really?

In a piece for USA Today out on Friday, June 12, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz ranks every NFL team from most to least entertaining. It's subjective, of course, so don't take this personally, Browns fans. But, he puts the Browns at the very end of his tally as the least exciting team to watch in 2026.

Browns rank last for the entertainment factor in 2026

"It might be quite a while before Cleveland enjoys a brief trip to the limelight, which it made when Garrett's down-to-the-wire chase for the single-season sack record helped shift the focus away from another deflating campaign," he says in the piece. "With Garrett off to Los Angeles, Todd Monken seems like he's been tasked with overseeing a loose collection of spare parts. Though several young pieces from the past two draft classes look promising, the Browns are now without a true catalyst on either side of the ball."

He adds: "And Deshaun Watson's potential return as starting quarterback might only exacerbate the hollow feeling many will get in watching the franchise tread water for another year."

Not only is that a diss to the Browns, but it's also a major diss to Sanders, because he doesn't even get mentioned as being in a quarterback competition for the starting role. Of course, it's just a matter of opinion, as Middlehurst-Schwartz noted, and it just gives Cleveland a little more incentive to have an action-packed season.
